The video was really confusing. I didn't imagine anything like that video. Wow. I pictured that scene exactly how explained it. I don't remember it saying anything about the demons. All it said was that Milo, Tock and the Humbug met the person with no face and they went to work. That was all it said. There weren't any villians in the book or at least I didn't picture them as villians. It was also weird that Tock didn't have a clock on his side like the book has explained. I am wondering if the person even read the book before he made the video or if he went to wikipedia or some other false web site. Miss.Bailin, you may have wanted us to watch the video after we read chapter 17.

In the book, Milo, Tock and Humbug got going on their tasks right away. In addition in the book Tock did not know who the blank man was
ReplyDelete( Terrible Trivium), but in the movie he recognizes him right away.I would change Tock's task of bringing water from well to well with a dropper to doing it with a bucket that has a hole in it. I played a game like that before at a spring fling and it was pretty fun.
This video is different from what I picture in my mind because in my mind or in the book Milo doesn't shoot word out of a 4. Also in the video Tock doesn't have a clock on him and in the book he does. Another thing is in the book monsters don't start chasing them. Some things that are the same are that they climb a tall and rough mountain in both the book and the video. One more thing is that the no faced man makes them do worthless jobs in both the book and the video. The thing that i would of done differently is that I would of made the no face man get his face burnt off.

Randy I think that is a little violent.
ReplyDeleteya but, why did tock not have a clock on him

It was not what I expected in some parts and what I expected in others. I expected Tock to have a watch. Then when I look at the pictures in the book and the ones in the movie they look totally differant. In the movie the no faced man was like the one in the book, but otherwise I thought they looked quite different. I agree with Emily, did the person even read the book? I like Brandt's idea of using a bucket w/ a hole in it.
ReplyDeleteBrandt- How far away would they wells be from each other?
Man I agree w/ Emily. That video was confusing!! I thought that it was fun to watch though, except it was super weird the first time I saw it because the sound was messes up. Although many things were different from the book such as Tock. In the book he had his clock on the outside of his body where in the video it was hidden under his fur. Also I did not really understand the Humbug. Why was he not aware of what was going on for awhile? Also there was none of that mud stuff in the video like there was in the book. Lastly, in the book Milo hair is blond, where in the video, it's brown.
ReplyDeleteI don't get the video either. Some of the demons in the video weren't in the book, and most of the demons in the book weren't in the video. As said in many posts, I wonder what the illistrator of the movie was thinking, why would they make a watchdog without a watch? Creepy. I also think it's weird in the book how Milo eventually reconizes the Terrible Trivium, because I don't remember him EVER being mentioned earlier in the book. Maybe Tock Milo and the Humbug had a talk while walking up the mountains. Also, the Gentalious Giant doesn't melt in the book like it does in the movie, and in the movie the giant isn't as shy.

Devon
I wonder like Steven why did Tock not have a clock or why did Humbug not have a mask because I thought humbug had a mask. I thought that movie was cool and confusing like Emily and Ben.
ReplyDeletewhere was the very dirty bird? in the movie before??
ReplyDeleteAlso, the Humbug looked different.
ReplyDeleteMichael and Steven you are both right i thought the humbug had a mask and the i know for a fact that tock has a huge clock in the middle of him because of the cover of the book! the movie was really confusing!!!
ReplyDeleteTock didn't have a clock on him in the video, and on the cover of the book he did. Milo has blond hair on the cover, and in the video the had brown hair. In the video, the Humbug looked like a turqoise bunny, and in on of the illistrations, he has a long nose, and he is wearing a long coat down to his calves. The Gelatinous Giant melts in the video, and in the book he walks away.
