Post 12 - The Most Valuable Number

1. Which number is the most valuable? Why do you think this (be respectfully persuasive)?

  1. I think 1 is the most valuable number because there is supposedly only one of them. One is a one time thing. Like first impressions when you meet people, you can't do that a second time with the same results. People can easily judge a person by the first impression they make.

Another example; if I had the only football card of Larry Fitzgerald some Cardinal fans would be envious, like Ben or Randy.

  2. I agree with Beau's idea in class that the most valuable number is 8 because when 8 is turned on it's side, it makes infinity (oo).

  3. I think 3 is the best number because it can be 3 little pigs, 3 ugly step-sisters, 3 musketeers, and that is 3 3's. So that is why I think that 3 is the best number.

  4. I believe 1 is the MVN.(Most Valuable #) I think this because it is where numbers start. The only other number would be 2. Although there would be no 3 because 3 is 1 more than 2. Plus do you think infinity is the highest number, well what if you added 1 more to it, than again, than again, and again. I also agree with Michael that it's the rarest of all numbers. That is why 1 is the best number.

    Ben
P.S. Michael I will take that card.

  5. I think 8 is the Most Valuable Number. I think this because it can be to numbers. Infinity is the highest number there is. The reason being is because you cant add 1 to the # (number) infinity because is wouldn't mean anything. It goes on forever. Also 8 is a pretty high # (number) seeing that it is one of the highest single digit numbers.

P.S. I agree with you Devon

  6. I'm liking the way Cade is thinking.

  7. I totally agree with Michael that 1 is the greatest number because there is 1 of them.

  8. I think 9 is the best number because 9 can be made into two numbers. Like if you flip 9 upside down you can make 6. Another thing is 9 is the highest single diget number. Plus 9 can eat all the other numbers.

  9. Micheal you made a really good point. 1 is my second favorite number.

  11. Dear Cruse,

I really like your examples. Fantastic work. Do you think one is really the loneliest number like the cliche says?

  12. Dear Ozzy,

I like how you are connecting with Beau's idea from class. What other things can you find 8 in that would make it valuable?

  13. Dear Brandt,

Great start. What else can you think of that needs three or could equal three? Keep going .

  14. Dear Ben,

I like your MVN idea. How did 1 become the rarest number?

  15. Dear Cade,

I like how you explained that adding one to infinity would not mean anything because it goes on forever without adding anything to it. Do you think that is an error in the explanation in the novel?

  16. Dear Randy,

Very funny entry. :) I like how you are analyzing the place value of nine. No one else has done that yet. Bravo!

  17. I think one is a powerful number. Mainly because you can add one to any number and only get one number more. It would be easy to caculate a promblem if only the number one was involved. One is also speacial because it is neither a prime # or a composite #. No other # is like that. There is also only one you. Never will there be 2 or 3 or any other number of you. Even if you clone your self there would still be only one you. The clone will be a clone of you. But you will be never be the clone or any one else you will be you and there would only be one of you. There is also only one A or E even though many A's and E's are used. There is only one of them. One is obviously the best number there is.

  18. I think King AzAz and the Mathamagican can get along fine with 3. That is because if you turn the 3 sideways you get E. They might argue about who gets it but that isn't my problem.

  19. I think one is the most valuble number. One because you can times one by anything to get any number and even fractions. One can be any number. Plus King Azaz would like it, because it can be a L or an I. One has the same meaning of unquie which means speacial and one of a kind. One is where whole numbers with a value begin.
